The contents of the VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection are designed around its two featured Pokémon.

Inside the box, collectors receive:

• 1 etched foil Rayquaza VMAX
• 1 etched foil Duraludon VMAX
• 1 foil Rayquaza V
• 1 foil Duraludon V
• 1 oversized Rayquaza VMAX
• 1 oversized Duraludon VMAX
• 11 Pokémon TCG booster packs
• 1 Pokémon TCG Live code card

The four standard-size cards can be used in the Pokémon TCG, while the oversized versions are intended primarily for display.

Rayquaza VMAX

One of the main attractions of this collection is Rayquaza VMAX.

Rayquaza has been one of the most recognizable Legendary Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise since its introduction in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Its VMAX form became one of the notable Dragon-themed cards of the Sword & Shield era.

In this collection, Rayquaza VMAX receives an etched foil treatment, giving the featured card a distinct premium appearance.

The collection also includes a regular-size Rayquaza V, providing collectors with both stages of the featured Pokémon line.

Why Rayquaza Is Important to the Collection

Rayquaza provides the collection with a recognizable Legendary Pokémon centerpiece.

Collectors who focus on Rayquaza can use the product to add:

• Rayquaza V
• Rayquaza VMAX
• Oversized Rayquaza VMAX
• Etched foil Rayquaza VMAX

Having both standard and oversized versions also gives collectors different ways to display the Pokémon.

Duraludon VMAX

The second featured Pokémon is Duraludon VMAX.

Duraludon is a Steel/Dragon Pokémon introduced in the Galar region. Its enormous VMAX form fits naturally into a collection centered around powerful Dragon-themed Pokémon.

Like Rayquaza VMAX, Duraludon VMAX receives an etched foil treatment in the premium collection.

The box also contains a regular Duraludon V, allowing collectors to display the two cards together.

The Double Dragon Theme

The name Double Dragon reflects the product’s central concept.

Rather than focusing on one Pokémon, the collection puts two Dragon-themed VMAX Pokémon together:

Rayquaza VMAX + Duraludon VMAX

This creates a simple theme for the product and gives collectors two very different Dragon Pokémon to display.

Rayquaza represents a Legendary Pokémon associated with the skies, while Duraludon brings a distinctly industrial and metallic design from the Galar region.

The contrast between the two Pokémon is part of what gives the collection its visual identity.

The Etched Foil VMAX Cards

The two featured VMAX cards are not ordinary reprints within the product.

Both Rayquaza VMAX and Duraludon VMAX are included as etched foil cards.

The etched treatment adds texture and visual detail to the cards and helps distinguish them from standard foil cards.

For collectors, these cards can serve as the centerpiece of the collection.

Oversized VMAX Cards

The collection also includes two oversized cards:

• Oversized Rayquaza VMAX
• Oversized Duraludon VMAX

These cards are much larger than standard Pokémon TCG cards and are primarily designed for display.

Oversized Pokémon cards have long been used in special collections and premium products to give collectors a larger way to showcase featured Pokémon.

The two oversized VMAX cards complement the regular etched foil versions included in the box.

11 Pokémon TCG Booster Packs

The VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection also contains 11 Pokémon TCG booster packs.

This gives the product an opening component in addition to its fixed promotional cards.

The exact expansion mix can vary depending on the regional release and product distribution, so collectors should check the packaging when purchasing a sealed box.

The booster packs provide opportunities to discover additional cards beyond Rayquaza and Duraludon.

Opening the booster packs can add:

• Pokémon V
• Pokémon VMAX
• Holo cards
• Trainer cards
• Special-rarity cards
• Cards from different Sword & Shield-era expansions

Unlike the four featured cards, the cards in the booster packs are randomized.

Pokémon TCG Live Code Card

The collection also includes a Pokémon TCG Live code card.

This allows the physical product to connect with the digital Pokémon Trading Card Game experience.

The code card is included alongside the physical cards and booster packs.

VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection for Collectors

This product is particularly interesting for collectors because it combines several different types of Pokémon TCG collectibles.

Instead of receiving only booster packs, collectors get fixed cards, oversized cards, and sealed packs in the same package.

Rayquaza collectors

Rayquaza fans receive both Rayquaza V and Rayquaza VMAX, plus the oversized VMAX version.

Duraludon collectors

Duraludon collectors receive Duraludon V, Duraludon VMAX, and the oversized Duraludon VMAX.

VMAX collectors

The product provides two VMAX cards with matching etched foil treatments.

Sealed-product collectors

The premium collection itself is a sealed Sword & Shield-era product with a distinctive double-sided box design.

VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection for Display

One of the strengths of this product is its display potential.

The oversized cards give collectors something substantially larger to showcase than ordinary Pokémon cards.

The two featured Pokémon also work well as a pair.

A display could include:

• Rayquaza VMAX etched foil
• Duraludon VMAX etched foil
• Oversized Rayquaza VMAX
• Oversized Duraludon VMAX

The double-sided packaging also reinforces the two-Pokémon theme.

VMAX Double Dragon vs. a Standard Elite Trainer Box

The VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection and an Elite Trainer Box are designed for different purposes.

Feature	VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection	Elite Trainer Box
Featured Pokémon	Rayquaza & Duraludon	Varies
Fixed promo-style cards	4	Usually 1
Oversized cards	2	No
Etched foil cards	2	Varies
Booster packs	11	Varies
Sleeves	No	Yes
Dice	No	Yes
Energy cards	No dedicated Energy pack	Yes
Main focus	Featured cards + display	Packs + gameplay accessories

The VMAX Double Dragon product places much more emphasis on its two featured Pokémon and oversized display cards.

VMAX Double Dragon vs. a Booster Box

A booster box is primarily a sealed pack-opening product.

The VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection takes a different approach.

Feature	VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection	Booster Box
Booster packs	11	Usually 36
Fixed featured cards	Yes	No
Oversized cards	Yes	No
Etched foil cards	Yes	No
Main purpose	Premium collection	Large pack opening
Display pieces	Yes	No

A booster box provides more booster packs, while the Double Dragon collection provides exclusive fixed-content cards and display pieces alongside its packs.

Why Rayquaza and Duraludon Work Together

The two Pokémon offer a clear visual contrast.

Rayquaza VMAX is a legendary Dragon Pokémon with a long history in the Pokémon franchise.

Duraludon VMAX comes from the Galar region and has a distinctly mechanical, skyscraper-like appearance.

Bringing them together gives the collection two different interpretations of powerful Dragon Pokémon.

This also makes the product useful for collectors who enjoy building themed displays around Pokémon types, generations, or VMAX cards.

Is the VMAX Double Dragon Premium Collection Good for a Collection?

The product provides several different collecting elements in one package.

It includes:

• Two etched foil VMAX cards
• Two regular foil V cards
• Two oversized VMAX cards
• 11 booster packs
• A Pokémon TCG Live code card

That combination makes it different from a standard booster-focused product.

For someone collecting Sword & Shield-era premium products, it also represents the VMAX period of the Pokémon TCG.
